Verified Agent Skill record

Product Marketing · Marketingskills

A skill for creating and maintaining a product marketing context document at .agents/product-marketing.md that captures positioning, audience, messaging, brand voice, proof points, and learnings so other marketing skills can reference shared context without repeating foundational information.

Tasks

Create a product marketing context document at .agents/product-marketing.md, either auto-drafted from the codebase or built section by section conversationally
Update specific sections of an existing context document, bumping the version and adding a changelog entry on substantive changes
Log tested learnings (with evidence, applicability, and status) into the Learnings section and retire stale entries
Migrate context found in legacy locations (.claude/product-marketing.md or product-marketing-context.md) to the canonical .agents/ location

Inputs

Existing .agents/product-marketing.md, .claude/product-marketing.md, or legacy product-marketing-context.md if present
Codebase materials for auto-drafting: README, landing pages, marketing copy, about pages, meta descriptions, package.json, existing docs
User-provided answers about product overview, target audience, personas, problems, competitors, differentiation, objections, switching dynamics, customer language, brand voice, proof points, and goals
Existing copy and the founder's own writing for building the brand voice section

Outputs

.agents/product-marketing.md containing 14 sections (Product Overview through Learnings) with document version, last-updated date, and changelog
Versioned changelog entries describing what changed and why on each substantive update
Learnings table rows with learning, evidence, applies-to, and status (active, watch, or retired)

Limitations and checks

Sections vary by product: Personas apply to B2B only, and Paid Ads is optional depending on whether the user runs ads
Learnings should exclude single-run anecdotes (log as watch or omit), task notes, and content belonging in other sections
The document is a methodology, not executable automation; it does not include tooling that writes or validates the file automatically
Confirm .agents/product-marketing.md exists and is valid Markdown with the expected sections and filled-in fields after creation or update
Verify the Document version, Last updated date, and Changelog are consistent: v1 with one initial entry for new docs, incremented version with a prepended one-line entry naming sections touched and reason for updates
Verify Learnings rows each include a specific one-sentence learning, evidence with numbers and sample size, applies-to scope, and a status of active, watch, or retired, with retired rows kept (not deleted) and moved to the bottom
Confirm customer language entries are verbatim quotes rather than polished paraphrases
Confirm any context found in legacy locations was offered to be moved to .agents/product-marketing.md
