A lean three-stage writing pipeline (ideas → drafts → published) for short-to-medium-form writing such as essays, newsletters, and blog posts. It defines per-folder rules and agent behaviors so that stage flow and review guidance live in the skill rather than inside template bodies or folder descriptions. It complements the platform open-knowledge skill and does not replace it.
Tasks
Promote an idea from ideas/ to drafts/ when committing to writing it, moving the one-line premise into active prose.
Move a draft from status drafting to review, then use its target_form frontmatter field to suggest publication targets.
Publish a finished draft to published/, auto-filling canonical_url when a Substack, Ghost, or Mirror URL is pasted, and recording published_at and channel.
Review ideas idle more than 30 days and decide whether to park or promote them.
Review drafts idle more than 14 days and suggest next steps for drafting or review.
Inputs
One-line premises, headlines, and fragments placed in ideas/
Draft prose with frontmatter tracking status (drafting/review), word count, parent idea, and target_form
Substack, Ghost, or Mirror URLs pasted into published/ files for canonical_url auto-fill
Outputs
Active drafts in drafts/ with frontmatter metadata
Immutable shipped work in published/ carrying published_at, canonical_url, and channel fields
On-demand research notes created under drafts/<slug>/research/ when a piece needs them
Limitations and checks
Designed for short-to-medium-form writing such as essays, newsletters, and blog posts
Complements the platform open-knowledge skill; does not replace it
published/ is immutable; revisions require copying to a new draft
ideas/ is intentionally kept short and is not a draft folder
Verify that ideas/ files contain short premises rather than full drafts
Confirm drafts/ frontmatter includes status (drafting/review), word count, parent idea, and target_form
Ensure published/ files carry published_at, canonical_url, and channel fields
Check that research notes live under drafts/<slug>/research/ rather than a top-level folder
