Guidance for using the Dot's browser identities for website tasks and web searches: choosing which identity to use, opening and closing identities, keeping one identity per person or account, and knowing when exec with curl is simpler than a browser.

Tasks

Choose or create a browser identity for a website task and close it when done
Use a second throwaway identity to handle email verification while signing up in the first
Use exec with curl instead of the browser for a plain download or API call

Inputs

A task that requires a website (named site, login, or form steps)
An identity name when creating a new identity via browser_identity_create
An identity_id of an open identity, required by every page tool

Outputs

A browser identity created, launched, used, and closed via browser_identity_list, browser_identity_create, browser_identity_launch, and browser_identity_close
Page actions performed under a chosen open identity
Notes written as your own skill at /home/dot/skills/<name>/SKILL.md for repeatable site procedures

Limitations and checks

The first launch of a new identity can take minutes
An open browser holds memory on the computer, so identities should be closed once no longer needed
Two accounts used inside one identity appear as one person to anyone looking
A proxy is only used when the person explicitly asks for that one identity to use theirs
Confirm the identity is closed with browser_identity_close before answering, since an open browser holds memory
Confirm you are reusing an identity already logged in to the site rather than creating a new one
Confirm two accounts are not combined into one identity, since that reads as one person
Confirm a plain download or API task is routed through exec with curl instead of the browser
