ScrapeCreators/social-media-research-skills

social-media-research-skills is a collection of installable agent skills that provide complete public social media research workflows across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit and X. It is powered by the ScrapeCreators API and works with the documented Agent Skills clients.

Project overview

It takes a workflow-first approach to social media research: users ask for business outcomes like outlier posts, comment mining, competitor teardowns, ad analysis and trend discovery, and each skill returns a useful artifact rather than raw JSON.

Best for

Creators and users of Agent Skills-compatible clients who want AI-agent automation for public social media research and content-writing tasks.

Key capabilities

Ships documented workflow skills such as outlier-post-finder (posts beating a creator's baseline, with outlier tables, patterns and hooks) and comment-mining (questions, objections, pain points and audience language producing VOC reports and content ideas).
A documented skill turns social videos, transcripts and posts into reusable content assets such as LinkedIn posts, X threads, scripts and newsletter/blog ideas.
A supporting skill that routes raw scraping/fetching requests to the right ScrapeCreators endpoint with API calls, endpoint references and pagination guidance; it is used by the workflow skills as the data layer.

Limitations and risks

Only public social data is available; logged-in or private data cannot be promised.
All functionality depends on a ScrapeCreators API key from an external commercial service; verify you can obtain and maintain this access before adopting the skills.

Getting started

Setup is easy: run 'npx skills add ScrapeCreators/social-media-research-skills', export SCRAPECREATORS_API_KEY=sk_..., then prompt your agent, e.g. 'Find the outlier posts for @starterstory on YouTube Shorts'. A ScrapeCreators API key from scrapecreators.com is required, configured via the SCRAPECREATORS_API_KEY environment variable. No coding is required to use the skills.
