lifeos is a personal AI operating system layer that captures goals, context, and history to automate and optimize work and life tasks across sessions. It consolidates memory, skills, and intelligent routing so an AI assistant can act with persistent knowledge of your preferences and objectives.

Project overview

By providing persistent memory, a bundled skill library, and automatic input routing, lifeos addresses the recurring problem of AI assistants losing context between sessions and requiring repetitive manual setup.

Project type: AI Agent · Prompt Engineering
Use cases: Knowledge Q&A · Automation
Deployment: Refer to project documentation

Best for

Developers and technical users who want persistent context, automated routing, and a bundled skill library for AI-assisted personal and professional workflows.

Key capabilities

A memory system that consolidates knowledge, people, companies, ideas, and work history across sessions.
A bundled library of skills covering research, security, writing, art, and other domains.
Automatically triggers the right workflow based on user requests.
A unified background daemon providing a dashboard, hooks, observability, and cron jobs.
An optional terminal interface to interact with lifeos as an agent.
Ability to run lifeos with local models such as Ollama or llama.cpp for privacy and cost control. This capability is planned and not yet available.
Notification system for Email, Discord, Telegram, and Slack. This capability is planned and not yet available.

Limitations and risks

Installation and operation require a capable AI coding harness to install and run lifeos.
lifeos currently lacks built-in local model support and relies on external paid services such as Claude. Local model support via Ollama or llama.cpp is planned but not yet available.

Getting started

Provide the install prompt to a capable AI coding harness such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex, then approve the permissions the AI requests. Setup involves executing scripts or interacting with an AI agent.
