Opik provides tracing, automated evaluation, and monitoring dashboards for generative AI applications, RAG systems, and agentic workflows. It supports local self-hosted deployments via Docker Compose and a managed cloud service.
Project overview
The platform is designed to handle up to 40M+ traces per day and includes a dedicated SDK with optimizers for prompts and agents.

Best for
AI engineers and developers building, testing, and optimizing generative AI applications, RAG systems, and agentic workflows.
Key capabilities
Tracks LLM calls and traces with associated context during development and in production.
Includes LLM-as-a-judge metrics for evaluation.
Experiment with prompts and models in the Prompt Playground.
Monitor feedback scores, trace counts, and token usage over time in the Opik Dashboard.
Dedicated SDK and set of optimizers to enhance prompts and agents.
Features to help you implement safe and responsible AI practices.
Limitations and risks
Self-hosted local orchestration does not preclude remote dependencies. GPU requirements, telemetry practices, external services, and specific coding requirements are not documented. Paid services are optional, and data boundary interactions with external systems are possible.
Getting started
Installation is documented as easy using a single command script for Docker Compose. Users clone the Opik repository, navigate to the directory, and run the ./opik.sh script to start the platform.
Alternatives and comparisons
